The Pug, commonly known as the bulldog, is a breed of dog originating from China that has a wrinkled face, short muzzle, and curly tail. This breed has a smooth, glossy coat that comes in many colors but is most commonly black and fawn. Pug’s body is compact and square with well-developed muscles.
The Pug was brought to Europe from China in the sixteenth century and became popular in Western Europe by the Dutch Orange-Nassau and Stuart houses. In the United Kingdom, in the nineteenth century, Queen Victoria had a great passion for the Pug and she spread it to other members of the Royal Family.
