The May 1926 coup of Józef Piłsudski caused control of the Second Polish Republic to fall into the hands of the Sanacja movement. I’m Norwegian you can’t pronounce my last name shirt. This period lasted until the Second World War broke out on September 1, 1939, when Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union attacked Poland (September 17). Warsaw was occupied on September 28, 1939 and Poland was divided into two regions, the western region under the control of Nazi Germany, and the Eastern region (the territories occupied by Poland from the Soviet Union in 1921) returned to the Soviet Union as agreed in the Ribbentrop-Molotov Treaty. The eastern part of Nazi Germany was included in the Common Government area, and the western part (most of which belonged to Germany before the First World War) was annexed to the German State.
